The Mayan City states were spread out throughout their territory so that each had space and they were together as one, but separate. Some of the City-states in this empire are Palenque, Copan, Tikal, Yaxchilan, Tonina, and Banampak.
The Mayan Empire covered Central America through the Yucatan Peninsula, Honduras, parts of Mexico, Guatemala and Belize.
