Siyaj Chan K'awiil II: Stormy Sky
Stormy Sky was the ruler of the mayan city state of Tikal from 411 A.D to his death in 456 A.D. Though he was not of the royal line, Stormy Sky cemented his power by taking on the name of an ancient mayan king and the title of sixteenth ruler in the line of Tikal's founder Yax Ehb' Xook. During his reign, Stormy Sky returned to the traditions of the Mayan people despite being of some foreign ancestry through his father. Archeologists belived that it was during this reign that Tikal reached the height of it's power and reach.
